The early and untimely arrival of monsoon rains has dampened the tourism activities in and around Shimla, in India. Video shows heavy rains lashing Shimla. Officials have forecast further heavy showers. This has led to the lessening of tourist arrivals on the upper parts of Himachal Pradesh state including Shimla. The diminishing tourist arrivals have affected the local economy negatively.
