Srinagar was recently the venue of a two day exhibition of rare Quranic manuscripts. The exhibition conducted during the holy month of Ramadan showcased 35 rare handwritten Quranic manuscripts made by legendary calligraphers. There were also two dozen printed copies of the Holy Quran on display. The exhibition was conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
