Outline of a Lord Ganesha mural
Vasthuvidya Gurukulam, an institution under the Government of Kerala, has made commendable achievements in preserving the mural tradition of the state. Apart from conducting courses, the mural department here carries out preservation works of old murals. The department also do new painting works for galleries, establishments etc.
Shown in the video is S. Suresh Kumar, Head of the department, drawing a paper sketch for a mural of Lord Ganesha. Popularly known as Suresh Muthukulam, he is a prominent artiste who was trained by the late Mammiyoor Krishnan Kutty Nair, a doyen of Kerala’s mural tradition.
Vasthuvidya Gurukulam is located at Aranmula in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala.
