About 'Life in Kuttanadu'
The video clip shows Kuttanadu a rural place situated below sea level. This region comes under Alappuzha, Kottayam and Pathnamthitta districts of Kerala, India. A major centre for paddy cultivation, Kuttanadu was known as the ‘Rice bowl of Kerala’. Inland fishing and agriculture are the major activities in Kuttanadu, crisscrossed with rivers and surrounded by backwaters. Being a state with total literacy, one can see villagers reading newspapers in every nook and corner even while traveling on country boats!!

Superbly caught on film. What a way to enjoy the morning newspaper, or have the delight of purchasing fresh produce off a boat, or the serene pleasure of gliding by, on a moonlit backwater!
