About 'Munnar – mist wreathed hills and meadows'

Munnar, one of the most popular hill stations in India, is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Located at about 1600 m above sea level, this was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India.

Picture book towns, sprawling tea plantations and winding lanes make holidaying in this hill station memorable. Munnar is known for the Neelakurinji flowers that bloom once in twelve years. Anamudi, South India’s highest peak is also located in Munnar. Anamudi along with some other hills here are ideal options for trekking. Eravikulam National Park, another popular picnic spot here is dedicated for the preservation of Nilgiri Tahr, an endangered mountain goat species.
