Feel God on a challenging trek to Agasthyakoodam

Agasthyarkoodam is the second highest peak in Kerala at 1,868 metres and so, proves a challenging trek. But you are rewarded with amazing vistas and waterfalls with the clearest water. Situated in the Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary in the Western Ghats, the mountain lies in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram district. This peak is a part of Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve which lies on the border between Kerala and Tamil Nadu, and boasts many rare medicinal herbs and orchids.

Of course, it is believed that Agasthya rishi, who is mentioned in the Ramayana, had an abode and meditated here. When you have endured the climb to this beautiful cut-off space, you will see that it’s not difficult to get spiritual.

The season for Agasthyakoodam trekking starts from January and ends in March of every year. The passes for visiting Agasthyakoodam will be issued by the Forest Department and you can get it from office of the Wildlife Warden located at PTP Nagar, Trivandrum.
