About 'The St.Thomas church, Kodungalloor'

St.Thomas church at Kodungalloor, Thrissur, Kerala, is the first Christian church in India, founded by St. Thomas, the apostle of Jesus Christ. In 52 century AD, the saint is believed to have visited Kodungalloor as part of his preaching of Christianity from Ethiopia to China. Kodungalloor was then known as Muziris. 

This church houses many ancient relics. Kodungalloor St. Thomas church is one among the seven- and-a-half churches established by St. Thomas in Kerala, the others being Kottakkavu, Palayur, Kollam, Kokkamangalam, Niranam and Nilackal.
