Sarees are the traditional attire of women in most parts of India. In India there are different styles of sarees produced in different parts of the country with different weaving traditions. Some produces cotton sarees and some others silk sarees. But saris produced in Gadwal region of Andhra Pradesh differ from others in their combination of cotton and silk in a single saree.

In Gadwal, the handloom sarees have the body made of fine cotton and the borders and the pallu made of pure silk. The body and the border of this saree are woven in such a way that one hardly notices the difference between them.
