Mumba Devi Temple is a famous holy place of Mumbai (Bombay) in Maharashtra. It is situated in Bhuleshwar which is a well known place in Mumbai city. People in Maharashtra are intense devotees of Mumba Devi. The city Mumbai got this name after Mumba Devi.

Earlier this temple was located at Bori Bunder in 1737, where Victoria Terminus (V T) is situated now. Later on it was reconstructed in Bhuleshwar. According to mythology there was a cruel giant named Mumbarka who used to loot the city. This being a problem to the people, they worshipped Lord Brahma and it is believed that Brahma created a goddess with eight arms who then killed Mumbarka. Since the goddess killed Mumbarka, she became Mumba Devi.

It is a very simple temple in which there are no complicated architectural works on it. The Goddess appears in front of devotees wearing splendid clothes and a silver crown with a nose stud and golden necklace. Along with Mumba Devi Temple there are other holy places dedicated to Lord Ganesh, Maruti, Mahadev, Indrayani, Jagannath, Narsoba and Balaji respectively.
