It’s Christmas time again… All around the world children are readying to welcome their dear Santa, who arrives on a reindeer sleigh to present them wonderful gifts.
Perhaps, Santa, the jovial old man with a broad smile on his white-bearded gracious face, would be the most popular among the Christmas folklore. Of the various portrayals of Santa Claus, the one which originated in the US in the 19th century became the most popular.
Celebrated cartoonist Thomas Nast gave life to Santa Claus as a white-bearded fat man wearing a red coat with white collar and cuffs, red trousers and a broad black belt. Though this image is also in vogue in the Europe and the UK, Santa assumes a different name there - Father Christmas.
