Fighting with Urumi and Paricha in Kalaripayattu

Featured in this video is an Urumi (flexible sword) fight with a paricha (shied) in Kalaripayattu. Kalaripayattu or Kalarippayattu is the traditional martial art form of Kerala which is still popular in the state. Urumi or chuttuvaal is a kind of sword with thin long blade that has spring like action. It can be worn round the waist and used when ever necessary.
