Temple linked with Indian epic Ramayana

It is believed that Peralassery Subrahmanya Temple in Kannur to be where Lord Rama and his brother Lakshmana halted on their way to Sri Lanka to rescue Sita from Ravana.  The temple is located at Mundallur, on the Kannur – Koothuparambu road. It is about 15 km from Kannur Town.

Popular vazhippadu (offering to god) are Subrahmanya Pooja and Mutta Oppikkal (offering of eggs to the revered snake deity). Even though the temple is dedicated to Lord Subrahmanya, the temple is also famous for the Snake God.
