Mani Bhavan in Mumbai

Whenever Gadhiji, the father of nation, visited Mumbai, he used to stay in a simple old-style, two storied building, which now is a museum and research centre. Named Mani Bhavan, it is an unpretentious two-storied building located on the Laburnum Road in Mumbai, Maharashtra state of India. The building also functioned as Gandhiji's Bombay head-quarters for about seventeen long and eventful years (1917-1934).

The owner of Mani Bhavan was Mr. Revashankar Jagjeevan Jhaveri, Gandhi’s friend and it was from this building that Gandhi initiated Satyagraha against Rowlatt Act and propagated the causes of Swadeshi, Khadi and Hindu-Muslim Unity.
