Village woman weaving a Naga shawl

The video shows a village woman engaged in weaving a shawl in Nagaland, India. In this north-eastern state of India, weaving is a traditional work of the women folk. There is an elaborate process behind every beautiful Naga shawl.

Naga looms are quite simple, made of bamboo and is handled by a single woman. Among the Naga shawls the Ao tribe’s warrior shawl Tsungkotepsu is famous.
