Bhageeratha Temple at Gangotri, Uttarakashi

A series of steps from the Gangotri Temple would take one to the small temple dedicated to Sage Bhageeratha, who as per Hindu mythology was instrumental in bringing River Ganga from the heaven to the Earth. The temple is believed to be located at the very same place where Sage Bhageeratha underwent intense meditation. Gangotri temple is situated at Hrishikesh in Uttarakhand state, India.
