About 'On the banks of the river Brahmaputra '

The land of Ahom dynasty, Assam – the gateway to the north-east of India– is situated on the banks of the mighty river Brahmaputra. Anywhere in the state one can see the hard-working common people. Daily life here is symbolised by the bustling roads with busy people engaged in their common activities.

The social and cultural lives of the Assamese are interwoven with the activities of modernity and racial traditions. The state has a large number of tribes, each having its own unique traditions, culture and exotic ways of life.
