Directorial debut film of Hrishikesh Mukherjee, 1957 released Bollywood film Musafir, was written by Bengali script writer and film maker, Ritwik Ghatak. An experimental film, the film tells about a house and the lives of three families living in it. The film stars Dilip Kumar, Kishore Kumar, Suchitra Sen and Nirupa Roy in lead roles. Music of the film was by Salil Chowdhury.
