On summer evenings India Gate or All India War Memorial is probably the busiest recreation centre in Delhi.

Built by Sir Edward Lutyens, India Gate pays homage to soldiers who died in the First World War and Afghan War.

The environs of the Central Vista lake near India Gate are quite charming.

The area is lined with beautiful lawns and trees on both sides which make the environment cool and pleasant. The Boat Club here attracts a large number of people.

The locale is also crowded with many street vendors, who sell  snacks and other things.
