This style of orchestration is an inevitable part of temple festivals and nowadays during big socio-cultural events also. Panchavadyam comprises Thimila, Maddalam, Edakka, Ilathalam (cymbals) and Kombu. This musical ensemble is characterized by a unique rhythm and its proportional increase in tempo.
