The Gandhi Memorial Museum in Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, was inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru on May 10, 1963.

The gallery is divided into three sections based on the themes ‘Gandhi in Ahmedabad, ‘Paintings ’and ‘Life and Message of Gandhi’.

The museum has an exhaustive collection on Mahatma Gandhi, throwing light into the momentous struggle of freedom for the country. The museum houses 34,000 manuscripts, 150 felicitations, 6,000 photo negatives and 35,000 books.
