Brahma Sarovar is a sacred water body located at Thanesar in Kurukshetra, Haryana state of India. A place of historical relevance, Brahma Sarovar is an amalgamation of history, legend and scenic beauty. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Brahma created the mother earth from the land of Kurukshetra after a huge yajna (sacrificial rites). Hence this huge water body is also mentioned as the cradle of Indian civilization.

Kurukshetra since it is believed as a sacred destination is often visited by a large number of devotees throughout the year. Devotees believe that a holy dip in Brahma Sarovar during eclipse will clear all their sins.
