Bharatanatyam, one of the classical dances of India had its origin in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Featuring in this video is a Bharatanatyam performance excerpt by Rajashree Warrier. The performance is based on Aaye Giridhar, a Hindustani composition by King Swathi Thirunnal, the erstwhile ruler of Travancore in Kerala.
