Symphony Celestial vol 2 Part 2, Kathakali

Kathakali is a classical dance form said to have originated in Kerala, India in the 17th century. This traditional form of dance is associated with the myths in Hindu epics. This video presents Kalyanasougandhikam, a bit of dance form in Kathakali rendered by Inchakattu Ramachandran Pillai and Margi Vijayakumar.

Panchali, the wife of Pandavas gets a beautiful flower, Sougandhika while staying in a forest. She asks King Bhima to get more such flowers and he goes in search of them. This is the theme of the play, Kalyanasougandhikam.
