‘Sqay’ which means knowledge of war is a martial art technique of Kashmir. It was introduced during the reign of the ancient king Dharya Deva. Sqay employs elements of other marital arts like Karate and taekwondo and is used in self defence. At present girls from various schools and colleges in Kashmir are keenly learning this sport.
