Koti theerth at Gokarna, Karnataka

Koti theerth is a huge temple tank where pilgrims perform their ablutions at Gokarna in Karnataka state, India. Gokarna literally means Cow’s Ear and is named for the ear shaped confluence of two rivers – the Gangavali and Agnashini, which marks Gokarna a pilgrimage centre.

Gokarna is home to the ancient temple of Mahabaleshwara with its Atmalinga. The Venkatramana Temple and the Ganapati Temple are the other important shrines here.
