Obelisk is a monument set up as a tapering stone pillar of square or rectangular cross section. Inside the Srirangapatna Fort one can see an obelisk erected in 1907 AD by the Government of Mysore to commemorate the siege of Srirangapatna or Srirangapatnam by the British during the 4th century Mysore war.
