About 'Kodunthirappully festival – celebration of music and elephants'

Kodunthirappully is a place in Palakkad district of Kerala known for an annual festival on the occasion of Navarathri. Celebrations are held in competitive spirit by the two Agraharams (Tamil Brahmin settlements) of Kodunthiruppully. It is conducted in typical Kerala style and customs. Caparisoned elephants make the procession colourful that is also accompanied by traditional drum ensembles like Panchavadyam and Chendamelam.
