Vadakkupurathu paattu, a ritual offering to the goddess Devi at Vaikom Mahadevar temple, Kottayam, Kerala, India. This ritual began during the reign of Vadkkumkoor dynasty and kalamezhuthu is a ceremony related to this event. The pictures of the goddess Devi will be drawn using colour powders. Once the Kalam is drawn, songs in praise of Bhagavathy and Lord Ganesha are sung.
