Killikkurissimangalam is the birth place of Kunchan Nambiar, a renowned bard and satirist of Kerala famous for inventing the art form of Ottan Thullal. Kalakkathu house, the domicile where Kunchan Nambiar was born, is located on the banks of Bharathapuzha (Nila River).
