This is a short film based on the works of a folk group called Vayali, based in Thrissur district, State of Kerala, South India. Comprising young artistes, this folklore team, hailing from Thrissur – the cultural capital of Kerala is keen on preserving the roots of their cultural traditions. They also came up with their own version of musical performance called the ‘bamboo orchestra.’
In a short span of time, since coming together as a group, Vayali caught the attention of art lovers. They also received recognitions from various government and non-governmental agencies for their efforts in preserving and promoting traditional arts; especially folk and also for their efforts in reviving the heritage value of the River Nila, popularly known as Bharata Puzha in Kerala.
