Sweetmeat Street or SM Street as it is more commonly known is one of the nerve centers of Kozhikode (Calicut). A rather narrow street, it has rows of shops on both sides offering merchandise of all types, predominated by sweets.

Also known as mittayi theruvu SM Street is so crowded much of the day that motor vehicles are not allowed on the street during peak shopping hours.

The Kozhikode halwa, which is a much sought after sweet by those who live there and those who visit the city, is a main commodity on the street.
