Pakkam Village is situated near Kurava Island, an island located in Kabani River, at Pulpally in Wayanad district of Kerala. Majority of the population here is tribals, especially Kurumas.

The village on the banks of river Kabani has an agrarian culture in its most traditional and indigenous form. Now it is one of the very few centres of organic farming in the state and efforts are on to preserve its ethnic and sustainable living and bio-diversity.
