Located on the shores of Vembanad lake in Kottayam district, Kerala, the Vaikom town had been the hub of many activities; may it be cultural, political or trade- related. Vaikom boat jetty has a relevant space in the historical and contemporary life of Vaikom. It is now one of the prominent centres of transport in the town.
