About 'Aranmula boat race '

Aranmula Vallam Kali is one of the crowd pullers of Kerala. This snake boat race called Uthrattathi Vallamkali is conducted every year during the Onam season, that is the months of August and September. Nearly 30 snake boats (Chundan Vallams) participate every year in the race held on River Pamba. The race is unique on account of its religious origins. Associated with Aranmula Sree Parthasarathy Temple, this unique water regatta does not have speed as the criteria.
