About 'Mampara View Point, Palakkad'

Mampara View Point is a picturesque spot in Nelliyampathy, the hill destination of Palakkad district. From this peak, one can have the view of the entire stretch of the beautiful Palakkad gap and some parts of the adjoining Coimbatore district in Tamil Nadu.

Nelliyampathy gets its name from the pockets of Nelli (Indian gooseberry) trees that grow lavishly around this region. With a lot of coffee and tea plantations, this location offers immense possibilities for trekking and bird watching. A ride through the winding and wooded road will be an enriching experience for any nature lover. Hairpin curves on the way make the journey adventurous.

Waterfalls and small hillocks, too, add to the charm of the spot. Nelliyampathi is a favourite choice of filmmakers to shoot their dream-like song sequences.
