About 'Kottapuram and Tejaswini River'

Kottappuram is a scenic place located on the shores of Tejaswini river in Kasaragod district of Kerala. Ferryboats are the common travel option of people on either sides of the river.

There is an islet on the river called Achan Thuruthu. The 340m long wooden bridge that connects Kottapuram and the islet is the longest one of its kind in the state.

The Bekal Resorts Development Corporation (BRDC) maintains a tourist reception centre at Kottapuram. The BRDC also operates houseboat services connecting Kottappuram and various locations in the Valiyaparamba backwater.
