Tea Museum- Munnar

Splendid greenery of vast tea plantations is a hallmark of Munnar, a popular tourist destination of Kerala. It was British planters who started tea cultivation in this hill station during the colonial period.

Travellers to Munnar can visit the Tea Museum here, a decorous tribute to the legacy of the place. The museum situated in the Nallathanni estate is managed by the Kannan Devan Hills Plantation (KDHP) Company Private Ltd, a major producer.

The KDHP formed in 2005 owns the plantations previously owned by the Tata Tea Ltd. The arrival of the Tata group in 1964 had been a landmark in the history of Munnar.
