Featured in this video is the Nehru Trophy Boat Race held annually on Punnamada lake in Alappuzha, Kerala. The regatta is organized to honour Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s visit to Alappuzha in 1952.

A variety of boats including Chundan Vallams or the Snake Boats and Churulan Vallams flash through the Punnamada lake, which is witnessed by thousands including foreigners. The shores of the Punnamada lake teem with humanity during the race.
