Lokanarkavu temple, one of the famous Bhagavathi temples situated in Malabar, is a temple associated with the heroes and heroines of Vadakkanpattu (Northern Ballads)of Kerala. It is said that  Thacholi Othenan, the legendary martial hero of Kerala, used to worship Lokanarkavu Bhagavathi every day. 

Situated at Memunda, about 2 kms from Vadakara  and 54 kms from Kozhikode (formerly Calicut) the main deity here is Goddess Durga. The magnificent murals and intricate carvings of Lokanarkavu temple are a delight to art lovers.
