Thrissur or Trichur, the cultural capital of Kerala, is renowned for its grand, colorful and most spectacular temple festival – the Thrissur Pooram. In all, about nine temples with their exclusive, sacred rituals participate in this festival. Annually, Thrissur Pooram is held in the months of April / May.

Panamukkumpilly temple, also located in Thrissur is one of the participants of this festival. Here the festival is celebrated with grand fireworks and illuminations. The sight is thunderous, spectacular and dazzling.
