Sahastrabahu temple locally called as Sas-Bahu temple located to the east of Gwalior Fort was built in the 9th and 10th centuries by one of the ruler Mahipal Singh of Kachppas. Singh’s wife worshipped Lord Vishnu but later another temple of Lord Shiva was constructed beside the old one for his son’s wife who was an ardent devotee of Shiva.
