What we have for you in this video is the tomb of the legendary Hindustani singer Mia Tansen, located at Gwalior in the State of Madhya Pradesh. It is said that he had the ability to bring rain through his singing. He was one among the Navaratnas (nine jewels) at the court of the Mughal Emperor Akbar.

Known for a large number of compositions including Durbari Kanada, Miyan Ki Todi, Miyan Ki Malhar and Miyan Ki Sarang, Tansen is considered as the father of Hindustani music. Sangeeta Sara and Rajmala; two important documents on music were also written by him.
