Thang-Ta is the traditional martial art form developed and practiced in Manipur, the land of jewel. This art form is an integral part of the heroic tradition of the Meitai people.

The original name of Thang-Ta is Huyen Lallong meaning ‘the method of safe-guarding’. The movements of this art form are marked by the use of swords, shields, daggers and spears.

Manipuri cultural troupes have been presenting Thang-Ta in most parts of the world.This video clip is shot at OCTAVE 2008 a cultural program presented by north-eastern state  at Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, India.
