Featured in this video is the prayer hall used by Thangal General, in Imphal, the capital of Manipur state, India. Lungthoubu Thangal, more commonly known as Thangal General is a martyr who laid down his life for Manipur, his motherland.
The Thangal General was a great warrior who fought against the British to protect his land. He along with Tikendrajit, the then prince of Manipur led the Manipuri army in the Anglo-Manipur war of 1891 but were defeated. Both were hanged by the British army on 13th August, 1891.
