It’s now Lieutenant Colonel Kapil Dev. The rank of Lieutenant Colonel in Territorial Army was conferred upon famed cricketer Kapil Dev by none other than the Army Chief Deepak Kapoor at a function in the Defence Ministry. Kapil Dev had led the victorious World Cup cricket team in 1983. Lt. Col Kapil Dev expressed his happiness at being conferred with the honour and said he was proud to serve his country at this age.
