Rahman Rahi gets Jnanpith

The country’s highest literary award is the Jnanpith award. The latest winner of this prestigious award was Rahman Rahi, eminent poet of Kashmir. He was awarded the Jnanpith award recently by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at a glittering function organsied by New Delhi. He is the first person from Kashmir to receive the honour.
