Vishwamitra and Menaka is a painting by Raja Ravi Varma, the great Indian Painter. This painting is displayed at Maharaja Fatesingh Museum, Laxmi Vilas Palace at Baroda in Gujarat. The painting is based on the theme which portrays a scene from Mahabharata, the Indian epic- the meeting of Sage Vishwamitra and the celestial maiden Menaka. Menaka seduces Sage and she gave birth to a daughter- Shakuntala.
