Namgyal Institute of Tibetology is a world famous institute which encourages researchers interested in Tibetan art and culture especially in Sikkim state. Established in 1958, it is an important reference centre for Buddhist scholarships in the world. The institute has a museum and a library and is situated in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim state, India.
