The course of River Ganga in Uttarkashi is marked by speed and is not that wide when compared to its course further down in Hrishikesh or Haridwar. The swift flowing waters of the Ganga and the river bed filled with rounded rocks adds to the scenic beauty of the valley floors and the pine tree filled hill slopes of Uttarkashi.
