The womenfolk of the villages in the Himalayan foothills match up to their male counterparts when it comes to physically demanding daily labour.

This video shows some of the women in the village of Didna engaged in daily chores like taking caring of their cattle and carrying firewood.

The terrain is up and down and it is a hard life up in the hills. The village of Didna is situated in the Chamoli district of the State of Uttarakhand in India and is about 8000 ft above the sea level.
